PROJECT OBJECTIVE
the GOAL OF THE project was to create a magazine ABOUT CORVALLIS, OREGON.  I WANTED TO RESEARCH facilities and establishments THAT service athletics, fitness, & physical health. MY GOAL WAS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE TO THOSE THAT WANTED TO KNOW WHAT CORVALLIS OFFERED OUTSIDE OF OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY'S FACILITIES. 
PROBLEM
BEYOND OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY, THERE WAS NO ONE-STOP SOURCE THAT PROVIDED INFORMATION of ATHLETIC & FITNESS FACILITIES LOCATED IN THE AREA.
SOLUTION
CREATE A MAGAZINE THAT HIGHLIGHTS WHERE PEOPLE CAN LOOK TO START THEIR NEW FITNESS ADVENTURE. THIS WAS A WAY TO GIVE SMALL ATHLETIC & FITNESS BUSINESSES AN OPPORTUNITY TO REACH MORE CUSTOMERS. 
CURATION PROCESS
STEP 1 — CONSULTING LOCATIONS
Visit each location to get an understanding of how each community represents itself. ​​​​​​​Each place fits a category of strength, sports training, cardio exercise, and flexibility. THis included interviews of WORKERS, MEMBERS and taking pictures. 
STEP 2 — MOOD BOARD
The subject of the magazine is all about Fitness & active lifestyle. communicating that in the best way possible was to showcase boldness through color, typography, and action shots.
STEP 3 LAYOUT INSPIRATION
researching potential layouts to implement for COrvallis Athletics Magazine. The direction was to have dominating photo images within abnormal geometric shapes. 
STEP 4 — SKETCHES
Using the concepts from my layout inspiration, I had sketched out an idea of what each spread would display when laid out. This magazine was a total of 20 pages.  
STEP 5 — FINALIZE
​​​​​​​The last step was to COmbine the research and transcripts of interviews into layouts of photos and copywriting. Each spread was designed to capture how each place identifies itself to the Corvallis community.
